This week we are spotlighting Shelli Diehl-White, our fundraising director at Lily’s House. She is passionate about making sure we secure the necessary funding to strengthen and maintain the mission of Lily’s House.

How long have you been on the board at Lily’s House and what is your role in the organization?

I came on board with Lily’s House in the early stages. Jeff and Sarah had already made some great strides in gathering a group of people in support of their vision. I came to the group to do fundraising and with that came the 1st and 2nd Luau.

What great things have you seen accomplished at Lily’s House since you’ve been involved?

It has an incredible experience to see this vision take shape. The day care was turned into a home with multiple bedrooms to welcome the first person into the House.

How has serving at Lily’s House been a blessing in your life?

Most people that are in addiction are closed off and hard to talk with. As some of these Moms have worked through the clean and sober process you get to witness the light and life come back into them.

What would you like people to know about Lily’s House that they might not already know?

Most people have the misconception of the word ‘shelter’ and automatically think of a domestic violence shelter. More than likely these Moms have lived in and with domestic violence but the reason they are there is to get their life back and free from addiction.

What is a specific vision you have for the future of Lily’s House?

I would love for Lily’s House to grow and be able to help more mothers and children.  It would be amazing if this program was recognized for the help it gives so that funding was more easily available.
